A motorcyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle in Sacramento on northbound Interstate 5 late Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. south of Pocket Road. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist lost control and was ejected onto the roadway, where they were subsequently hit by a passing vehicle.
Emergency responders performed lifesaving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.
