(WBFF) — A 20-year-old man died following a motorcycle crash in Fallston on Saturday, March 21, around 3:30 p.m.
Maryland State Police responded to Route 152 at Carrs Mill Road for reports of the accident. The victim, identified as Gavin Hopkins, was traveling northbound when he failed to stop at a red traffic signal, lost control, and struck a mailbox and guardrail.
Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that the crash occurred between Fallston High School, Fallston Middle School, and Youth’s Benefit Elementary School, raising safety concerns in the area.
According to Harford County Public Schools, Youth’s Benefit Elementary School dismisses students at 3:25 p.m., indicating potential conflicts with school traffic around the time of the incident.
Maryland State Police stated that the investigation into the crash “remains active and ongoing.” No additional injuries or vehicle details have been reported.
