A motorcyclist died in a collision on Highway 29 south of Yountville on Saturday, Feb. 28, at approximately 4:00 p.m.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was riding a 2019 KTM Duke at a high rate of speed when he broadsided a northbound 2018 Tesla Model X turning left from Hoffman Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The Tesla driver, an Oakland resident, reported no injuries.
CHP closed the southbound lanes of Highway 29 for three hours to conduct an investigation into the incident.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
