A Lakeland man died in a motorcycle crash on June 3, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded with Polk County Fire Rescue at 7:38 p.m. to 4000 Frontage Road S. Authorities reported that Jefree Reyneri Calles Orozco, 29, was riding a 2026 Yamaha YZFR7 motorcycle when he exited a parking lot onto an exit lane.
Preliminary investigations indicated the motorcycle made contact with the rear of a stopped semi-truck trailer waiting to enter Frontage Road South. Emergency medical aid was provided at the scene, but Orozco was pronounced dead shortly after.
The crash resulted in lane closures on Frontage Road for several hours during the investigation. The status of the investigation remains ongoing, and further details are forthcoming from authorities.
