Motorcycle Safety Concerns Rise in Washington State Amid Recent Fatal Crashes
Tri-Cities, WA—Washington state ranks seventh for motorcycle fatalities, with alarming crash statistics reported recently.
According to a study by Steve Gimblin Personal Injury and Car Accident Crash Lawyers, the state sees an average of 18 fatal motorcycle crashes annually, translating to 0.23 deaths per 100,000 residents. Recent incidents include two deadly motorcycle crashes in August along Highway 395, involving an Idaho man and a Kennewick father.
88 fatalities occurred from motorcycle crashes in Washington during the studied period, with the deadliest August recorded in 2022, claiming 28 lives.
The study analyzed data from 2020 to 2024, highlighting Wyoming as the state with the highest death rate at 0.92 per 100,000 residents. Washington’s crash data reveals a concerning trend, especially during summer months when ridership typically increases.
Authorities continue to emphasize safety precautions for motorcyclists, noting that Washington, with its scenic highways, poses particular risks.
