KAILUA-KONA (Local News Wire) – A two-vehicle collision on Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway injured two people on Saturday afternoon.
Hawaii County Police reported the crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 87.
According to authorities, a 35-year-old man driving a sedan collided with a pickup truck. Both drivers sustained moderate injuries.
Emergency Medical Services transported the injured individuals to Kona Community Hospital for treatment.
Police closed the highway’s northbound lane for about 40 minutes while the scene was cleared.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
