Serious Motorcycle Crash on Jefferson Boulevard Under Investigation
WARWICK, RI — A motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries in a crash with a Toyota RAV4 on Jefferson Boulevard at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday.
Warwick Police responded to the scene at 487 Jefferson Boulevard, where the accident involved a gray 2018 Toyota RAV4 and a red 2022 Ducati motorcycle. According to authorities, the RAV4 was making a left turn from Jefferson Boulevard when it crossed in front of the motorcycle.
The 66-year-old male rider struck the front of the SUV, sustaining multiple injuries. He was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is reported in stable condition.
The 31-year-old female driver of the RAV4 remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities stated that neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
The Warwick Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate the incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
