(WJAR) — A motorcyclist sustained severe injuries after crashing into a tree in East Greenwich on Sunday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Division Street near Overbrook Lane, according to the East Greenwich Fire Department.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist collided with both a tree and a utility pole.
The injured rider was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment; officials classified the injuries as severe, but not life-threatening.
Emergency response teams closed the roadway temporarily to assess the scene and manage the tow of the motorcycle.
As of now, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
