A 17-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on State Route 3 in Mexico, Oswego County, on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
At approximately 2:14 p.m., New York State Police from Hastings responded to the accident at the intersection of State Route 3 and Munger Hill Road.
Preliminary reports indicate the operator of a southbound motorcycle attempted to pass another vehicle but failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck a tree, and ejected the rider.
The operator, identified as Dalton J. Cummins of Mexico, was transported to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
