Hastings Motorcyclist Dies in Accident
HASTINGS, NE (May 16, 2020) — James Dean “Jim” Duncan, 76, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Hastings.
According to authorities, the incident occurred Saturday afternoon. Emergency responders from the Hastings Fire Department and Adams County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene. Duncan was subsequently transported to CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, where he later passed away.
Details regarding the exact location and circumstances of the accident remain under investigation. Witnesses reported that multiple vehicles were involved, but specific counts have not yet been disclosed.
Burial services will take place at 10 a.m. on August 8 at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church. The family requests memorial contributions for a future memorial establishment.
Duncan is remembered for his long career in auto mechanics, with over 40 years at Hastings Pork. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, riding for decades and participating in numerous motorcycle rallies. He is survived by his wife, Martina; three children; eight grandchildren; as well as siblings and many friends.
