LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK (January 5, 2026) – A police officer was injured in a collision with a pickup truck during a funeral procession in Lindenhurst on Monday around 11:30 a.m.
According to Nassau County officials, the officer was exiting Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church when the accident occurred at the intersection of North Wellwood Avenue and Jerome Street. He was involved in a collision with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck.
