SOUTHAMPTON TWP., N.J. — A head-on collision on Route 206 resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries.
Authorities responded shortly after 5 a.m. to reports of a serious crash in Burlington County. According to New Jersey State Police, a Toyota, carrying two men, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line.
The Toyota struck the side of a northbound pickup truck and collided head-on with a Kia behind it. The driver of the Kia, 28-year-old Austin Smolskis of Browns Mills, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the Toyota, aged 43 and 47, both from Trenton, suffered serious injuries.
No additional injuries were reported. The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators gathered information regarding the incident. Authorities have not confirmed if any charges will be filed related to the crash.
