PALESTINE, Texas (KTRE) – A 20-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash involving an SUV at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Palestine.
Authorities said the man was found unresponsive in the roadway following the collision with an SUV driven by a 72-year-old Montalba man, who received treatment at the scene.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures after the crash, which occurred on Old Elkhart Road near Academy Sports, according to a police spokesperson.
An initial investigation revealed the SUV was southbound, preparing to turn into Palestine Mall’s west entrance when the motorcycle, traveling northbound at a high speed, struck it.
The identity of the motorcycle driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police added.
The incident remains under investigation. No lane closures were reported.
