DANVILLE, Va. – A Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office investigator died following a motorcycle crash on South Boston Road on Monday around 12:45 p.m.
The crash involved a 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide and a 2022 Nissan Kicks. According to the Danville Police Department, the Harley was traveling westbound when the Nissan crossed into its path, leading to the collision.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Nicolas Samuels from Keeling, was transported from the scene but later died due to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Nissan, 25-year-old Daniel Dickerson of Danville, was also taken for medical treatment. Charges are pending as the investigation continues, authorities said.
The Pittsylvania County community is mourning Samuels’ death. A statement from Sheriff Mike Taylor described him as a dedicated investigator whose contributions to public safety will not be forgotten. Other local law enforcement agencies, including the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, have extended condolences.
The crash remains under investigation by the Danville Police Department.
