LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A motorcycle crash on NW 1st Street claimed the life of 33-year-old Dillon Williams of Pleasant Dale on Friday.
Authorities responded to the incident around 2:41 p.m. in the Highlands neighborhood, involving two motorcycles traveling south on NW 1st Street near W Grand Drive.
According to a Lincoln Police Department crash report, Williams attempted to overtake another motorcyclist, a 29-year-old Lincoln resident, but collided with their front tire, causing both riders to lose control.
Williams was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later that day. The 29-year-old motorcyclist sustained minor injuries.
The report confirmed that Williams was not wearing a helmet during the incident. Investigators noted both riders were suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.
The Lincoln Police Department continues to investigate the crash. Lane closures were in effect during the response and investigation.
