A man died late Saturday night in a motorcycle crash on Route 32 in Waterford.
Thomas Peabody, 55, of Westerly, Rhode Island, was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident, according to the Waterford Police Department.
Police responded to the incident at 11:20 p.m. Authorities said Peabody was riding a Harley Davidson Motorcycle FLHXS southbound on Route 32 when he struck a guardrail near Richards Grove Road, ejecting him into a wooded area off the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to witness statements and evidence collected at the scene.
The Shoreline Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation. Authorities urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Waterford Police Department at (860) 442-9451.
