WAIPAHU, HI — An electric motorcycle rider has died following a head-on collision on Malakeke Street on Nov. 29.
The rider, identified as John Agluba, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Dec. 11, according to the Medical Examiner.
Authorities said Agluba was struck by a driver attempting to overtake another vehicle. Witnesses reported that Agluba was thrown onto the road and hospitalized in critical condition, and he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
This incident marks Oahu’s 81st traffic fatality of the year. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
