ROCHESTER, NH — A motorcycle collision left one man critically injured on Milton Road Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
At approximately 4:39 p.m. on July 8, 2026, Rochester Police, Rochester Fire, and Frisbie EMS responded to a reported accident involving a motorcycle and a Jeep Grand Cherokee near 214 Milton Road.
Officials stated a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 67-year-old Robert Melanson of Rochester, was making a left turn into a residence when it collided with a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by 53-year-old Joseph Trask, who was attempting to pass in a no-passing zone.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene, while the Jeep suffered minor damage and was driven away. Melanson reported no injuries.
Trask was severely injured and transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. According to authorities, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Initial investigations indicate that alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
The Strafford County Regional Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation. Currently, no charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
