Semi Driver Charged in Fatal Crash Involving Motorcyclist on Northern Minnesota Road.

A Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 371, near Leech Lake, Minnesota, on October 12.

Authorities reported that at approximately 4 p.m., a semi-truck swerved into the shoulder, striking a motorcycle and forcing it into a cable barrier. The truck then ran over the motorcyclist, later identified as 30-year-old Roy Berger of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.

Witnesses stated the semi driver was intentionally attempting to prevent the motorcycle from passing. Following the collision, the semi fled the scene, but the Minnesota State Patrol was able to locate and stop the driver, a 33-year-old man from Emlenton, Pennsylvania. The driver denied involvement in the crash.

Dash camera footage from the trucking company demonstrated the semi crossing a solid white line before veering toward the shoulder where the motorcycle was located.

The semi driver faces two counts of criminal vehicular homicide. An investigation is ongoing, and no additional injuries were reported.
