COMAL COUNTY, Texas – A 17-year-old boy was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning on State Highway 46 near Stoney Creek Drive, authorities said.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to the scene at approximately 9 a.m. involving a motorcycle and two pickup trucks. Initial investigations revealed that the teenager was riding a red Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound when he lost control and crashed into a Ford pickup truck and a Chevrolet Silverado.
The impact ejected the rider, who landed in a nearby ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to DPS. The identity of the teenager has not been confirmed by authorities, but a letter from school officials indicated he was a student at Smithson Valley High School.
In response to the tragedy, school officials expressed condolences to the family and offered counseling services for students, faculty, and staff impacted by the incident. They encouraged parents to access support resources if needed.
DPS has not released additional details regarding any potential lane closures or further investigation updates.
