South Brunswick, NJ (October 28, 2025) – A 32-year-old man from Keyport died early Monday, October 27, following a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound New Jersey Turnpike, near milepost 76.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 4:01 a.m. when the man’s Nissan struck a Toyota minivan, leaving it disabled in the center lane. Shortly thereafter, a Kia SUV, which had recently been involved in a separate collision, hit the Nissan. The driver exited his vehicle and was standing in the left lane when struck by a Toyota SUV, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. He was identified as Albert R. Masonius, 32, of Keyport. The New Jersey State Police are conducting an investigation into the events leading up to this tragic accident.
Authorities confirmed lane closures are in effect as the investigation continues. No additional injuries or fatalities were reported.
