SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A motorcycle crash on East Trent Avenue claimed one life on July 23, 2026.
Around 4:35 p.m., a GMC Sierra pickup was traveling east on State Route 290 near North Evergreen Road when it struck a Harley-Davidson motorcycle moving in the same direction. Witnesses reported that the GMC briefly left the roadway before re-entering and colliding with the motorcycle.
Both vehicles crossed into the westbound lanes and came to rest on the shoulder. The motorcyclist, identified as 50-year-old Corey S. Wren from Spokane Valley, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the GMC, a 23-year-old male from Spokane, was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Authorities stated that the cause of the crash is under investigation, with no signs of drug or alcohol involvement. Potential charges against the GMC driver are pending.
Reopening of East Trent Avenue was confirmed at 8:35 p.m., following lane closures for emergency response and investigation. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) had closed the roadway between North Pines Road and North Evergreen Road earlier in the evening, directing traffic away from the area.
