Henrietta, N.Y. — An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Jefferson Road near the Interstate 390 southbound on-ramp at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday.
Joseph Cantie was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy David Marcucci from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported a second vehicle was involved; its driver suffered minor injuries and was briefly hospitalized. This driver has been ticketed for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
The Rush-Henrietta Central School District identified Cantie as a member of the graduating class of 2025 and expressed condolences to his family and friends.
Emergency response personnel have closed lanes on Jefferson Road as the investigation into the cause of the crash continues. No further details have been released regarding additional factors or potential eyewitness accounts.
