A 34-year-old man from Tennessee is in critical condition following a motorcycle collision with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 75, north of Lake City, on Monday at 12:08 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the motorcycle rider was traveling northbound on I-75 when he left the roadway and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, which was parked on the east shoulder. The rider was airlifted to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville for treatment.
Authorities reported that the tractor-trailer driver, a 37-year-old man from Mexico, did not sustain any injuries.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and lane closures were implemented to assist emergency responders.
