MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A 70-year-old man from Bowie, Texas, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 242 on Friday night.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. near the Highway 54 Connector. Authorities said the rider lost control of his Harley Davidson Sportster, which went off the roadway and down an embankment.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The crash prompted an investigation by the Missouri Highway Patrol, but no further details on the cause have been released.
No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported injuries to other parties. The roadway was temporarily closed while authorities conducted their investigation.
