Thomas Saddler dies in motorcycle crash in El Paso, according to EPPD.

Motorcycle Collision Claims Life on Montana Avenue

EL PASO, TX, (March 31, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision at the intersection of Montana Avenue and N. Walnut Street on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the El Paso Police Department, 34-year-old Thomas Joseph Saddler was riding a 2018 BMW G-310 when his motorcycle collided with a 2022 Chevrolet turning left at the intersection, heading west.

Authorities report that Saddler attempted to avoid the vehicle by veering right but struck its rear end, leading to his ejection from the motorcycle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the Chevrolet driver has not been disclosed. The EPPD Special Traffic Investigations Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.

Collision Impact

In 2023, motorcycle fatalities in the U.S. reached a record 6,335, making up 15% of all traffic deaths, the highest rate since 1975, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

“Motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable road users,” said Candice Bond, managing partner of Bond Legal. “Even minor collisions can lead to severe injuries.”

Pending the investigation’s outcome, there may be grounds for a wrongful death claim by Saddler’s family, which could cover damages for loss of companionship and emotional distress.

“It’s crucial for families to have their rights protected during this difficult period,” said Stefano Formica, of counsel at Bond Legal.
