Twelve injured as motorcycle crashes into group at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY – Twelve people were injured after a three-wheeled motorcycle crashed into a crowd at Commodore Barry Park on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. at Flushing Avenue and Navy Street in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. Authorities reported that a 53-year-old woman, Neisha Atkinson, lost control of the vehicle, striking a group of attendees at a community event.

Injuries were reported among seven men and five women, aged 36 to 73 years old. All 12 victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition as of Monday morning.

Witnesses stated that the park was crowded for an event featuring a DJ when the accident happened. Video from the scene showed a chair lodged in one of the motorcycle’s front wheels after the crash.

Authorities have charged Atkinson with two counts of Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Failure to Yield to Pedestrians, and Improper Licensing. She also suffered injuries and is recovering in a hospital.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to police.
