AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A fatal crash occurred Sunday morning around 10:51 a.m. on Jefferson Davis Highway.
The incident took place in the 2000 block and involved a 2026 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2020 Subaru, according to authorities.
The motorcycle was traveling west when it collided with the Subaru. The motorcycle operator and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene at 11 a.m., officials reported. The Subaru driver sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Autopsies are scheduled for next week in Newberry, and the coroner’s office is currently working to identify the victims and notify their next of kin.
The investigation is being conducted by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
