MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A motorcycle crash during a police pursuit early Sunday morning left two individuals with serious injuries.
The incident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on Robert Grissom Parkway near 21st Avenue North, according to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a motorcycle with a driver and passenger failed to stop for law enforcement, prompting a chase by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle veered off the roadway, striking a curb and a tree. Both individuals were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Emergency medical services transported the driver and passenger to the hospital with serious injuries. The SCHP vehicle was not damaged during the incident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
