Two Saturday Crashes Lead to Helicopter Transport for Victims.

Traffic delays occurred Saturday on Highway 395 due to two separate crashes that resulted in injuries and required helicopter medical transport.

Just before noon, a collision at Highway 395 and Muller Lane Parkway involved a dump truck and a motorcycle, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP). Preliminary investigations indicated the dump truck failed to yield while making a left turn, striking the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Battle Born Air 12, which landed on the Parkway.

Traffic on Highway 395 was reduced to two lanes for approximately four hours as emergency responders managed the scene and conducted an investigation. “Intermittent lane and full closures of Highway 395 were necessary to facilitate the air ambulance, complete the investigation, and clear the scene,” an NHP spokesperson stated.

Earlier, around 1 p.m. Friday, another collision occurred at Highway 395 and Stephanie Way. A Chevrolet pickup reportedly ran a red light, colliding with a Toyota SUV that was making a left turn. First responders closed the northbound lanes of Highway 395 during the incident. The driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, while the Chevrolet driver reported no injuries.

Separately, at approximately 5:20 p.m. Saturday, an ATV accident off Sunset Pass Road resulted in one rider being airlifted due to severe injuries requiring a tourniquet. The rider was transported to the Johnson Lane sandpits, where Air 12 picked them up for transport to Renown Regional Medical Center.
