Two Washington Motorcycle Riders Injured in Accident on US 20/26 Near Oregon Border
PARMA, ID – Two motorcycle riders sustained injuries following a crash on US 20/26 at mile marker 1 on Monday, August 31, at 12:46 p.m.
According to the Idaho State Police, the 57-year-old male driver and his 55-year-old female passenger, both from Woodinville, WA, were traveling eastbound when their 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle struck an oil slick while passing a semi-truck. The motorcycle subsequently crashed and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.
Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the incident. The male was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance, while the female was airlifted for medical care.
Authorities reported that construction was underway in the area, impacting traffic in both directions.
This incident marks the third serious motorcycle accident reported in the state within a week, with the other two resulting in fatalities.
While the semi-truck was not directly involved in the crash, it was referenced in a separate accident report issued by the Idaho State Police. Additionally, last night’s incident on Interstate 84, near the Jerome and Minidoka County border, involved a semi-truck that lost control and rolled over, though the driver was unharmed.
