Two Washington Motorcyclists Injured in Idaho Accident
PARMA, ID – Two motorcyclists from Washington were injured in a crash on US 20/26 near the Oregon border on Monday, August 31, at 12:46 PM.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 2019 Harley Davidson, operated by a 57-year-old man with a 55-year-old female passenger, collided with an oil slick while legally passing a semi-truck. The motorcycle lost control and came to rest on the shoulder.
Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Emergency responders transported the male rider to a local hospital via ground ambulance, while the female passenger was airlifted for medical care.
Construction was reported in the area, affecting both directions of travel, according to Idaho 511.
This incident marks the third serious motorcycle accident reported in the past week. The other two crashes resulted in fatalities.
Additionally, earlier reports indicated an unrelated rollover accident involving a semi-truck on Interstate 84 at the Jerome County and Minidoka County border, where the truck driver was unharmed.
An investigation into the motorcycle crash is ongoing.
