Vidor Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash, Undergoes Amputation

BEAUMONT, Texas — A 34-year-old Vidor man suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle accident on North Main Street around noon on Thursday.

According to Vidor Police Chief R. Johnson, officers responded to the 2000 block of North Main Street, locating the male victim, identified as Arron Villafano. He was transported via helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in serious condition, where he underwent an emergency amputation of his left leg above the knee.

The crash involved a single motorcycle, and witnesses reported the incident occurred without other vehicles involved. Emergency responders included the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance, and Orange County ESD 1.

North Main Street was closed in both directions during the investigation, which is ongoing.

The family is now facing significant medical expenses due to a lack of health insurance. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with recovery costs. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This is a developing story; updates will follow as confirmed information becomes available.
