Vidor Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash, Faces Amputation
BEAUMONT, Texas — A Vidor man was critically injured in a motorcycle accident on Thursday at approximately noon in the 2000 block of North Main Street. Arron Villafano, 32, lost his left leg during the incident and is currently in serious condition at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
According to Vidor Police Chief R. Johnson, police responded to the scene and found the single male victim. Villafano was subsequently airlifted for urgent medical care; doctors performed an above-the-knee amputation to save his life.
The family, lacking health insurance, faces significant medical expenses. Villafano’s wife, Emma, expressed gratitude for his survival while launching a GoFundMe page to assist with upcoming costs, including surgeries and rehabilitation. “I don’t want him worrying about bills while he’s learning how to heal and rebuild his life,” she stated.
Authorities closed North Main Street in both directions for an investigation. The responding agencies included the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance, and Orange County ESD 1.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
