Virginia Bus Crash Raises Concerns Over Driver and Company Safety Records.

Five Dead in Virginia Bus Crash; Investigation Underway

A bus crash on Interstate 95 near Quantico, Virginia, on May 29, 2026, resulted in five fatalities and multiple injuries.

The commercial bus, operated by E&P Travel Inc., was en route from New York to North Carolina when it overturned around 2:30 a.m. ET. Emergency responders, including local fire departments and Virginia State Police, attended to the scene. At least 12 passengers sustained injuries, with three requiring hospitalization.

Authorities confirmed that driver Jing Sheng Dong, 48, faces five charges of involuntary manslaughter and one count of reckless driving. Dong had prior speeding violations, raising concerns about driver fatigue and safety practices within the industry.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the crash, which is still in its early stages. Witnesses reported that the bus failed to brake before the collision.

Federal regulations stipulate a driver must not exceed 10 hours of driving without a mandatory rest period. The investigation will focus on Dong’s compliance with these guidelines and related safety standards.

As of now, no detailed information regarding road closures or towing services has been released. The investigation is ongoing.
