Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-285 Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
ATLANTA, GA — A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 285 northbound near exit 15 occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. on October 15, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries.
According to authorities, the accident involved five vehicles, including two sedans and three SUVs. Emergency Medical Services transported three individuals to local hospitals with serious injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, determining that the crash was caused by a rear-end collision that led to a chain reaction. The two left lanes of the northbound freeway are currently closed for cleanup and investigation, with traffic backed up for several miles.
Towing services have been called to remove the damaged vehicles, and officials expect lane closures to remain in effect for several hours. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
