Wilmington Girl Dies in Elkton-Area Motorbike Collision.

A 17-year-old girl from Wilmington, Delaware, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in Cecil County on Sunday afternoon.

According to Maryland State Police, the incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. on Maryland Route 213 near Leeds Road. The victim was a passenger on a motorcycle that collided with another motorcycle while attempting to pass it. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The operator of the motorcycle was identified as a 19-year-old man, who was also hospitalized but is expected to recover. The second motorcyclist involved in the crash was not injured.

The Maryland State Police continue to investigate the fatal accident. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.

Route 213 was closed for over one hour as authorities responded to the scene and conducted the investigation.

Authorities urge motorcyclists to ride responsibly, remain visible, and wear proper safety gear. Motorists are also reminded to be vigilant and share the road with riders.
