Woman hospitalized with serious injuries after being ejected into bushes in Algonquin motorcycle crash.

A woman sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on Compton Drive in Algonquin Monday evening. The incident occurred around 5:08 p.m. on Compton Drive between Algonquin Road and Magenta Lane.

According to the Algonquin Police Department, a passerby reported the crash, indicating that the motorcycle rider was found ejected into bushes near the wrecked motorcycle. Responding units from the Algonquin Police Department and the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District arrived to find the victim in critical condition.

Fire department radio communications suggested that the woman was barely breathing. Paramedics transported her to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital; her current condition remains unknown. A medical helicopter was initially on standby but was later canceled in favor of ground transport.

The circumstances of the crash, which took place in a sharp curve on Compton Drive, are still being investigated by the police. It is currently unclear if the motorcycle struck any objects before the crash occurred. The motorcycle was found on its side off the roadway.

Authorities reported that Compton Drive experienced lane closures for nearly three hours to facilitate the investigation. Chief Kory Koehler stated that the investigation is ongoing, and he urged the public to avoid the area.
