Woman killed and man hospitalized in three-vehicle crash in Grant County.

MARION, Ind. — A woman died and another person was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 26 in Grant County on Saturday morning.

The collision occurred at 10:21 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 26 and County Road 400 West. A 33-year-old woman, a passenger on a motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle’s driver, also seriously injured, was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.

Authorities are withholding the names of those involved while the Grant County Coroner’s Office, led by Coroner Stephen Dorsey, conducts an investigation and notifies family members.

According to a preliminary investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team, the crash involved a 2021 Harley-Davidson traveling east on State Road 26 and a 2007 Jeep heading west, which attempted a left turn onto County Road 400 West in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist subsequently lost control and collided with a third vehicle, a 2027 Kia, also moving west.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office, including Sheriff Del Garcia, extended condolences to the families and friends affected by the accident.

No lane closures were reported following the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
