A Yonkers man died early Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, according to the NYPD.
Douglas L. Smith, 45, was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle around 1 a.m. when he collided with a 2018 Subaru Outback near Broadway and West 261st Street. The impact caused Smith to be thrown from his motorcycle onto the pavement.
Emergency personnel discovered Smith suffering from major trauma and transported him to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed that a 30-year-old man driving the Subaru remained at the scene after the crash.
Footage from a Citizen app shows the intersection cordoned off, with debris scattered across the roadway.
As of Thursday evening, no charges had been filed in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
