Sebring, FL. – One person was killed and another was injured in a motorcycle accident near Sebring on Monday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:39 p.m. at Afton Road and U.S. 98.
A 60-year-old Sebring man was riding a motorcycle east on U.S. 98 with a 58-year-old woman as a passenger.
A 73-year-old Sebring man had been stopped at a stop sign in his pickup truck and was beginning to pull into the intersection when he struck the motorcyclist.
The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Sadly, the operator of the motorcycle succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment.
The pickup truck driver was unhurt.
An investigation into the accident is underway
