JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Haines Street near Mathews Bridge on Thursday evening.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident happened shortly before 10:35 PM. A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Yulee was traveling westbound when he lost control, veering off the roadway and colliding with a line of trees.
Witnesses reported that the rider was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders arrived shortly after the incident to assist.
FHP confirmed that there are currently no roadblocks in place and that the investigation into the crash is ongoing. Further details will be released as they become available.
