JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old woman from Yulee died Sunday night in a motorcycle accident on the Buckman Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. while the woman was riding south on I-295. She collided with the rear of an SUV, which was also traveling south.
After the impact, she was ejected from her motorcycle and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
The driver of the SUV, a 40-year-old man from Palm Coast, sustained minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Authorities stated that the investigation into the crash is ongoing. No further details on lane closures or towing services have been provided.
