Two Motorcyclists Dead after Fond du Lac County Crash on Subway Road and Van Dyne Road

Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin (September 3, 2023) – Two motorcyclists are dead after being involved in a collision at an intersection in Fond du Lac County on Friday evening, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened at around 6:45 p.m. on September 1, in the area of Subway Road and Van Dyne Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 17-year-old Fond du Lac woman was driving westbound on Subway Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign and was hit by a motorcycle traveling northbound on Van Dyne Road.

The two parties riding on the motorcycle were ejected by the impact of the crash.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 58-year-old Oshkosh man, was not wearing a helmet and was killed in the accident.

His passenger, a 56-year-old Oshkosh woman, was wearing a helmet and was airlifted to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to St. Agnes Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident caused the closure of Van Dyne Road between County Highway N and Melody Lane.

The accident is under investigation.
