A 21-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on County Road 8240 in Howell County on Tuesday evening, June 23, 2026, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 6:15 p.m. when a 2026 CFMOTO motorcycle traveling eastbound failed to negotiate a sharp curve, running off the left side of the road and striking a stump.
Authorities reported that the rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Howell County Coroner. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The motorcycle was severely damaged and subsequently towed from the scene by Hughes Towing of West Plains at the family’s request.
This crash marks Troop G’s 13th traffic fatality of 2026, down from 16 fatalities during the same timeframe in 2025. The investigation involved the Howell Rural Fire Department and additional personnel from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
