ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – A motorcyclist died following a collision with a car in west Odessa on March 25.
Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Yukon at approximately 11:37 p.m. for a major crash.
A westbound orange Nissan Sentra was turning left on a flashing yellow signal when it was struck by a black Indian motorcycle heading eastbound, according to authorities.
Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the accident.
The motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Jose Marquez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Sentra was transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing.
