A Canastota man died after his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck in Vienna on July 22, according to the New York State Police.
At approximately 5:05 p.m., authorities responded to State Route 13 for a collision involving a motorcycle and a 2020 Nissan Frontier driven by 90-year-old Leo Seaton of Camden.
Police reported that 37-year-old Ryan Lyke was traveling northbound on a 2022 Harley-Davidson when Seaton attempted a left turn into his path, resulting in the collision.
Lyke was transported to Rome Health, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit processed the scene. A Drug Recognition Expert determined there were no signs of impairment by Seaton, and the investigation is ongoing.
