BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — A 47-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening on Dixie Parkway.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Schulze was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson southbound on Dixie Highway when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve at Duffel Lane.
Authorities said the motorcycle left the roadway, struck a culvert, and collided with a metal gate, ejecting Schulze from the vehicle.
Schulze was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
Authorities reported that speed and alcohol use are suspected factors in the crash, and Schulze was not wearing a helmet.
