A 67-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck on Marco Island on Sept. 25.
The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. at North Collier Boulevard and East Elkcam Circle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers reported the motorcyclist was riding a Harley-Davidson in the left turn lane, traveling north on Collier Boulevard. Simultaneously, a 33-year-old Naples man was driving a 2019 Toyota Tacoma south on the inside lane.
Authorities said the motorcyclist attempted to turn left onto East Elkcam Circle when the truck struck the motorcycle, resulting in a T-bone collision.
The rider sustained critical injuries and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, where he was later pronounced dead.
This incident marks one of at least 29 fatalities in Collier County related to vehicular crashes this year.
