Motorcycle Crash in DeGraff Claims Life of Sidney Woman
DEGRAFF—A motorcycle crash on Cretcher Avenue Thursday evening resulted in the death of a 72-year-old Sidney woman, according to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. when a 2023 Can-Am Spyder, operated by 55-year-old Steven Klingler of Sidney, collided with a 2005 Ford F-250 driven by 17-year-old Caleb Shreve of Bellefontaine. Authorities reported that Shreve’s pickup was stationary and preparing to make a left turn when it was struck from behind by the motorcycle.
The motorcycle’s passenger, Carol Kinninger, was ejected and sustained serious injuries. Indian Lake EMS transported her to a nearby landing zone, and she was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital. She was pronounced dead shortly after 8 p.m.
Both Klingler and Kinninger were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Klingler received a citation for assured clear distance ahead. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Emergency response led to temporary road closures in the area during the incident. Further information regarding the status of those involved has not been released.
